"财神" or "Chinese God of Fortune", sometime known as "God of Wealth" is often invoked during Chinese New Year celebrations. Many Chinese worship 财神 (Cai Shen) because they believe that he is able to control the fortune and wealth for the mortals. It is also said that the fifth day of the 1st lunar month is 财神's birthday.
